Collecting vintage musical instruments is popular and increasing. Good old instruments are becoming rare, valuable and are easy to find. There is several ways to find what you are looking for, and here is some hints in that direction.
Search relevant magazines or local newspapers for classified ads ,maybe you find an instrument with great collecting potential.Often private persons do not know what they have between their hands and its value. Maybe the instrument is a piece they have inherited or used themselves many years ago.Either way its a good chance to do a bargain.
Another way to find items are at local markets, flee markets and garage sales.Vintage musical instruments can turn up in the most unexpected places so keep an eagle eye close to these opportunities.
A safe place to find instruments are online.Huge amounts of dealers find, restore and sell them all over the net. Many of them have been around for years and have a huge contact net for supply of vintage musical instruments.
Most of them run their own sale sites and display their products with photos, comments and prices. As I said ,they have had the instruments restored and they definately know their value so do not excpect to do a scoop there.
Online is also large market places where powersellers and private persons can put their ads. These are sold in an auction mode, that means the instruments are displayed for some time and buyers must bid and hope to purchase them as cheap as possible. The most common marketplace on the internet is Ebay where millions of different items are for sale every day.Do a search there , I guarantee you will find what you are looking for in a short periode of time.
Of course there is several other marketplaces online to search and there is even marketplaces in each country.
In my country the most common places to sell all kind of products are QXL.no or Finn.no. I recommend you to get an overview of your options where you live and work from there. Vintage musical instruments are really good items to collect and invest so do not hesitate to grab some nice pieces.

If you’re a fine experienced musician or an amateur student who loves working with different string instruments as a hobby or past time, you will always want to find the ones made from the finest wood possible and what better way than through experience and research. Know what your instrument is made of, and make sure that your dealer or supplier has used the finest grade when making your instrument so that your tonewood has the best sound possible.
When choosing a grade of wood for your instrument try to go with the finest one you can. You will be happier with the life and sound of your instrument whether it is a guitar or cello. Master grade is one of the best and has a very even texture and color. The other grades will make nice instruments and can be on the expensive side, however, they just don’t have the appearance that makes them better grades for your tonewood.
Sitka spruce is a very popular tonewood that works well with all types of stringed instruments, with a wave in the grain that is very similar to maple only much more subtle. Work with a company that will give you all the information required to give you the best possible instrument for the best price. Quality companies that will give you a great product will know their woods as well as the grain and how they are built.
A few tonewood products that can be built include ukuleles, guitars and mandolins, even flutes. If you have an instrument that you would like to be built go ahead and ask the supplier. A good company will be able to build or find you what you want and won’t mind going to the extra trouble. If you are having a hard time finding a company in your area or aren’t familiar with the trade, go ahead and look online to find the best deal as well as the most informative and knowledgeable company.
Your instrument will be yours for years to come and hopefully even your children and great grandchildren will be able to enjoy it as much as you have. Look into all your options and get the best deal from a company who knows the business, it can and will be very rewarding to know that you have the best quality instrument possible when it comes to tonewood and the fine craftsmanship it will hold.

Its the season to be jolly, merry and giving, and one of the best ways to give is by buying someone you care for a gift that will last in their memories forever.
Its safe to say that almost everyone will have a love of music, and that people have more than one favorite pop star, pop group or soloist in one form or another, and how special it is to not just see them live, but hear and listen to them live, on stage, right before your eyes. The whole atmosphere will be electric and the hour plus of music will bring happiness to anyone there.
Now. Imagine been able to give this experience to a loved one, family member or a dear friend. Just think of the enjoyment this will bring. And nowadays it does not matter how old or young that special person is, they are going to always remember that moment and who allowed it to happen.
So for something different this Christmas, buy them a concert ticket from one of the many online concert ticket websites. The choice is immense and one of the many advantages is that you can buy a ticket for an event in the next few months, or for later on in the New Year. Either way it is a gift that will be truly valued.
Now imagine, that after you have chosen your online ticket website to buy the expensive ticket from, doesn’t fulfill the promise of sending out the ticket on time. You try to contact the customer services number but cannot get through. Your numerous emails or ignored and you feel panicked and regret, as you bought this gift for that special person. Then a friend tells you to do some research online about the ticket website you bought it from. Gasp, horror, you find numerous forums, review sites and a website setup to warn people of the many problems the website you purchased the ticket from has. People who have paid for concert tickets, sporting events, in fact any ticket for any event advertised on the website. You start to feel that horribly sinking feeling, sickly feeling of that the worse is happening, you have visited a website that isn’t quite what it makes out to be and youre in a very boat with thousands of others.
So the moral if any out of this it to remember to do your research first when purchasing anything online. This will save a lot of heart ache and lost money that you will never probably get back.

1)What is the vendor’s availability Is the medical instrument repair company open to different medical equipment or just one main focus? 2)Does he have a history of buffing off catalogue digits? 3)Is your repair company repairing Pakistan-made surgical instruments? 4)Does the medical instrument repair vendor have a history of changing the finish of the medical instrument? 5)Does the surgical instrument repair company switch needle-holder jaws on-location? 6)Does your repair company send only 1 technician? 7)Do they offer any quality assurance programs like customer tracking? 8)Does your repair vendor return broken or non-repairable instruments 9)Does your repair company provide educational services? 10)Does your surgical instrument repair vendor specialize in any other repair service like for forceps? 11)Does your repair vendor inspect and service your instrument board? 12)Have you toured their mobile repair laboratory? 13)Does the medical instrument repair service offer any other sort of product repair, or is it just surgical instruments?

Before your child engages in the playing of any wind instrument, a New York orthodontist advises the parents to first talk to the dentist. The dentist points out that a number of dental problems come as a result of playing certain kinds of instruments. In one report he wrote for the Journal of the American Dental Association, he pointed out that millions of kids living in America are either playing an instrument they chose to play or are playing an instrument which was just carelessly picked out for them.
The children would see then that they were just not meant to play certain instruments because it does not fit them dentally or temperamentally. Would be musicians would then find themselves only able to play the instrument with a certain degree of skill without being particularly good at it. Any good dentist who is concerned about the service he gives to his patients must let would be musicians, music teachers, and parents know that potential problems in dentistry are related to musical instruments.
Before pursuing a musical instrument, it is advised that children and parents first seek advice from a dentist. There are a lot of dentists who claim that single reed instruments are usually to blame for cases of body tissue illnesses experienced by wind instrumentalists. The lower lip is supported by the teeth, and unfortunately it is also here that a lot of weight from the instrument is applied. The affected bone area does not receive enough blood when continued pressure is placed on the teeth.
The outward pressure that may be unintentionally exerted from the muscles of the jaw may force itself against the upper teeth and harm the alignment of the teeth. The upper and lower teeth experience pressure from the lips when brass instruments such as the trombone and horns are played. Extended periods of playing these instruments may lead to unnecessary movement or mobility of teeth. Those with irregular or sharp front teeth may experience pain on their lips when they play the oboe while those with short upper lips would have a difficult time playing the flute.
There are also certain string instruments that create potentially serious dental problems. He said previous studies have shown that continuous violin playing causes much pressure on the jaw, especially the part which holds the violin against the shoulder, and this may lead to a faulty bite in some people. An oral examination for those who want to play musical instruments is recommended so that possible dental problems can be avoided. Would be musicians would not have to worry too much about dental suitability and musical handicap so long as proper early recommendations are given.
Complications in life can be avoided by getting early checkups in life. Before playing wind instruments is one such case where seeing a dentist beforehand is a must. In closing, whatever you do or want to do, see a dentist first.

The Corrosion is Preventable by Washing the Dental Instruments
Every day dental offices are taking care of many people and this makes proper infection control practices essential to everyones well-being. Dental offices that stay up-to-date with infection control practices are those that help to prevent the transmission of blood borne viral diseases such as Hepatitis B. One of the main reasons why most people are afraid to see a dentist is the bunch of weird-looking instruments that dentists use to carry out their duties. However, by taking a closer look and knowing the purpose of those tools, the fearful patients can be able to relax and see a dentist for regular dental checkup. One of the most commonly attributed instruments to a dentist is the mouth mirror. It is a little handheld mirror that lets the dentist see through at all the angles inside the mouth of the patient. Mouth mirror provides an indirect vision of the mouth, reflect light and even give a significantly magnified view for the dentist.
After dental equipment and instruments are used, they must be sterilized. Although some dental instruments are for single-use, most are not. There is a two-stage sterilization process that all dental instruments must undergo after each patient. Sterilization kills living organisms such as Hepatitis B and HIV. In addition to the sterilization process, testing the sterilization equipment must be conducted on a routine basis so that dental patients are given the reassurance they need.
One of the common reasons for dental device re-tipping is corrosion on the blade of the instruments. The corrosion is caused by blood pathogens in the saliva. If these pathogens are not washed off thoroughly, it will cause corrosion on the device. This corrosion will destroy your mirrors and need new mirror ends be installed. Scalers and other instruments can corrode on the sharp fringe of the device causing the necessity for re-tipping. This can be annoying when your instruments are new or newly sharpened and already need to be re-tipped. Ought to I mention the cost, it can add up speedy. Improper cleaning and then using the autoclave will only make the corrosion worse.
This corrosion is preventable by washing the instruments after each use. Take the time to wash each device. Use a stiff brush and an antibacterial wash. When all saliva and blood are removed, then autoclave. Cover proper procedures together with your staff to make sure everyone is on the same page. You may have an interest to know that most of my re-tipping work is from improperly cared for instruments and not instruments that have been worn out. Dental Instruments are made of high grade stainless steel and will last a long time with proper care. This easy procedure can save your practice hundreds of dollars per year.

It amazes me to see people buy musical instruments for their kids or themselves, how they go right out and get the most expensive top of the line one they can find. Especially if they are just starting out.
Maybe they believe that getting a high priced instrument will somehow make them play better or they are convinced they will actually stick with this venture. But unfortunately for most of them, they will lose interest in it after awhile and it will work it’s way into the closet.
Fortunately for us this is good news and is my first tip for getting a good deal. Look for classifieds in the musical instrument section of the newspaper or online and search for “like new” or “barely used” items.
When you find what you want, do a preliminary check of what it’s going for new. Go out and inspect the instrument visually and try it out. Then negotiate your best deal. I usually offer about 60% of what it is worth new if it’s not too old and in very good condition.
Tip 2 would be to check out moving sales. Again, look in the newspaper or online. You can get all kinds of deals here, on most anything. But especially on the larger musical instruments like piano’s, organs, etc.
Tip 3 would be Ebay. Not my favorite and can be risky. Make sure to question the seller thoroughly about the item in question, don’t overpay for shipping (which alot of times includes handling charges) and make sure you get generous time to return it if necessary.
On the flip side of it, Ebay is great for selling bargains you may find that your not going to personally use. Musical instruments are popular on Ebay and can be a great way for you to make extra money.
Lastly, I would check out your local music store and see if they have any sales going on with new closeout instruments or any good trade ins you can buy at a bargain. Just remember that the store owner is looking to make a profit on it, so make sure it’s a good deal and negotiate.
